Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She's an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation often. She began working for ESPN as a reporter in 2016. She is the daughter of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native bilingual. From the age of nine years old, Collins's capacity to converse in two languages led to her obtaining the job she wanted in Miami as a production assistant at Univision. She held the same position as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo for the UniMas Network. Antonietta Collin's parents originally hail from Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22, 1985. She has an elder sister. In 1992, the family settled in Miami following the move out of Mexico to the US. In 1992, the couple divorced soon after. In 1995, she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who passed away in 2006 due to kidney cancer. It was during a time of summer when she was with her sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten the job. Still a senior in high school but having a clear vision of about what she wanted to pursue for her life, Antonietta was able to visit the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. At the end of the day she was enthralled with the school. And they offered her an academic major. She finished school and went to the University as an undergraduate major in media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the director for WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a member. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was deeply moved by his love of journalism.
